Storage of insulin pens
Unopened pens must be stored in a refrigerator at 2–8 °C and must not be frozen. Pens that have been frozen must be discarded, even if they have since thawed.
Once in use, a pen may be kept at room temperature, below 30 °C, for up to 28 days. Label each in-use pen with the date it was first used and discard it when this period ends.
